Talus fields, old growth trees, and pocket meadows line the short hike past Glacier Lake to Pieper Pass.
Great hike but could have done without the bugs!
The second lake on the trail. Secluded and very high up!
Before the summit, clear view.
First trip to Mailbox Peak! Too foggy/cloudy to see the views!
Totally worth the hike
Some tall old-growth trees on the trail to Lake Serene.
First hike of the year!

Amazing hike to Snoquera Falls. Micro spikes recommended at this point but can be done without them. Snow in basin beneath falls in semi dangerous; post holing through snow into the creek under snow highly possible (water seems VERY shallow though). We bushwacked to the top of Umtanum Ridge to catch one last glimpse of sunlight over the Yakima (in the distance) before returning to camp
This is one of those gems that does not come from a long hike in or a major, popular listing of great destinations for falls. It is the quiet experience of old growth, tangled brush and water falling on and around rocks that inspires you to see the forms, hear the sounds and smell the wood that surrounds you.

This was a beautiful 4 mile hike we did in the winter. We lost the trail a few times because of the snow, but we eventually found our way. Be careful and watch your footing.

In the spirit of opting outside this Black Friday, I decided to get an early start and hit a new trail this morning.

Took my first hike to these falls today. Needless to say, I was not disappointed!
