My buddy and I wanted to take some photos of the river and the waterfalls in non-traditional ways. We were on the trail at 7AM and had it all to ourselves until 8AM. The subdued, cloudy day with drizzle did not stop many families from enjoying an outing. We counted over 100 people on our way out at 11AM. There were cars parked alongside the road for over a quarter mile beyond the parking area. And the drizzle had turned to rain by this time... We had a great adventure scrambling among the boulders beside the river while searching for the best vantage points from which to secure our images.

Beautiful Photos!

Be careful

I'll always remember the first time I hiked this and I went off trail to take these type of pictures, after all I saw everyone else's footprints down to the beach! I took one step on a rock and in an instant I knew I was going down....hit the rocks about 6 feet down, not sure if landing on my backpack is what saved me....luckily all I got was a bloody chin and scared to death! I think the adrenaline made my whole body numb so it took a few minutes to tell if I was ok! It is slippery, so be careful!
