No snow, lots of sun, and plenty of goats made for a very good day hike.

Started at the Hummocks TH, where the road to Johnston Ridge is gated and then hiked up to the observatory with thoughts of continuing out towards Harry's View. At the observatory we ran into a group of goats on the trail that showed on indication of being will to share the trail so we turned around there.

Trail conditions were very fall like for this time of year. With the exception of maybe 15ft of trail there was absolutely no snow. We left the snow shoes in the car and brought spikes with us but they stayed in the pack.
