Take a short hike to a pleasant waterfall tucked away on the northeast corner of Larrabee State Park.

From the North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead, head up trail on a moderate grade. You'll traverse first through Arroyo Park, where several trails can make some forks a little confusing. When in doubt, take the trail to the right. You'll cross several lengths of boardwalk, pass babbling creeks, and one small waterfall.

After one mile of forest walking, come to a sharp hairpin turn. A sign to your left marks Chuckanut Falls. Begin heading downhill, switchbacking along until you arrive at a junction. Take the trail that continues downhill, eventually evening out on a southwest traverse.

Just 0.3 miles from the signed junction, a viewpoint with a wooden fence and small bench hove into view. Just beyond that is the waterfall. Stop a moment and enjoy the area before heading back to the trailhead the way you came.

WTA Pro Tip: For a slightly longer hike, take the right branch of the first fork that you come to on your way back from the waterfall. This offers a little more elevation gain, and about a half-mile extra of woodland wandering. When you arrive at a 'T' intersection with a large road, turn right. You'll be hiking on the Hemlock Trail. Simply follow this trail downhill, and in about 0.25 miles you will arrive at the hairpin turn and the lower trailhead for Chuckanut Falls.
